Mr. Short is a retired Senior Manager of Deloitte Consulting who has spent the past thirty years studying and teaching a variety of subjects, including history, genealogy, personal computers, Hollywood and business productivity.

In the early 80’s he formed a private consulting company called "Short on Time" which presented public and private productivity and effectiveness seminars.

His interest in genealogy started as a hobby and grew more intense as he enjoyed success in discovering ancestors. In subsequent years he qualified for membership in The Sons of the American Revolution, The Mayflower Society, The Jamestown Society, The Board of Certification of Genealogists, and dozens of others.

His life-long passion for motion pictures prompted him to start “Hooray for Hollywood”, creating a portfolio of entertaining tributes which explore different aspects of movie making, stars and genres. These presentations include clips, commentary and music and have been well received in both club and cruise ship theater settings. His accompanying costumes are widely enjoyed and anticipated.

His High School history educator background allows him to present port history/culture lectures customized to the ship’s itinerary.

These lectures have become a cruise favorite as he focuses on interesting topics but adds film and music where appropriate.

He spends most of his time entertaining and educating cruise passengers on Hollywood, Genealogy, History and Productivity and is applauded for his use of media to keep the talks enjoyable.
