BIOGRAPHY
Pauline studied art at St. Helens College of Art and at The University of Wales in Cardiff; She also has a Post Graduate teaching qualification from the University of Newport.

Her art is a representation of life from her perspective, Pauline has been painting and drawing from life, recording places, events and people wherever she goes. She especially enjoys drawing musicians whilst they play. She will select her subject matter to suit her interest at the time. Be it skateboarders, rugby players or dancers enjoying their fearless commitment to their sport, providing me with great dynamics.

Pauline prefers to work directly in front of her subject wherever practical making a direct response, but she also works in her studio allowing her memory and imagination to kick in. Studio working for her also encourages a more painterly approach to her work.

Her art studio is at home allowing her to fit her art with the rest of her family commitments. Pauline regularly finds inspiration to paint from her own garden and frequently includes family members into her paintings.

Pauline also teaches drawing and painting, mostly to adults, specializing in portraiture and life-drawing.

CLASSES
The Black Mountains
Create an atmospheric interpretation of the rain shrouded hills, using washes of colour and black Indian ink to create drama in your work. Step-by-step instruction given

Tulips
Taking these beautiful flowers as our inspiration, we will utilise a 'dropping in' technique with watercolour to create a colourful and vibrant interpretation of this classic flower. Watch the Artist demonstration, then allow your imagination to run riot!

Traditional Street Scene
Utilising the rules of perspective, we will create a more challenging piece. Inspired by the wonderful ...cobbled streets of Bergen, that have stood majestically the test of time.
Focussing on colour mixing to recreate the subtle greys and the earthy ochres we will create an image that will remind us of our explorations.

Inspirational Skys
Inspired by the ever changing views of the sky, its wonderful colour arrangements, subtelties and powerful movements, we will share tips and techniques, a fun and experimental workshop to create drama in your landscape with the versatility of watercolour and the wonder of the sky!

All classes will be suitable for the complete beginner and the more accomplished Artist. Individual guidance will be given alongside group demonstration.
