In addition I will provide comments and analysis of the outcomes which eventually led to Irish independence. A well illustrated talk.

Neolithic Orkney
In which I present details of the many neolithic sites within the Orkney Islands - their origins, their use and their place in the developing society within the British Isles. Main features are The Ring of Brodgar, The Standing Stones of Stenness and the neolithic village of Skara Brae. Each has its own history with suggestions, now, that these monuments are older than Stonehenge and have made a greater contribution to British culture.

The Celts in Britain
In this talk I explore the Celts and their perceived history then I examine the background to the Celtic revival which has taken place over the past 300 years. To finish, I'll take a look at new ideas which challenge existing theories about the Celts and their origins and separate myth from reality.

This talk is a fascinating commentary rather than a history lesson.

The Giants of Andalusia
In this talk i will reveal the 'great and the good' - and some 'not so good' individuals who have been associated with Andalusia over the past 200 years or so. From the worlds of art, sport, royalty, music, theatre, politics, business and exploration there are tales and secrets, all interesting and mostly amusing, about the likes of Pablo Picasso, Sergio Garcia, Sergio Ramos, Segovia, Dani La Rue and John Lennon! This talk is light hearted with a few facts and a lot of fun

What did the Romans really do for you?
We all know that the Romans built roads, sewers and Hadrian's Wall, but they invented fast food and advertising too. This talk not only looks at the obvious contributions made by the Romans but also the lesser known and more often surprising ones. Amusing fun, occasionally irreverent and some interesting facts.

The Renaissance and the Importance of Florence and Sienna
In this talk I examine and give insights to the art and architecture of the Renaissance. The talk will provide background as to why the cities of Florence and Sienna were pre eminent in the rebirth of Europe after the Middle Ages.
