BIOGRAPHY
The ancient and modern world’s greatest building achievements of civilisation are just waiting to be discovered. Frank can trace the knowledge and design skills that have been used to create these worldwide artefacts including their Architectural Heritage. Throughout history Master Builders have often surpassed the requirements for functionally, by designing structures which are intended to be beautiful and magnificently impressive. These have moved from the simple concepts used in earlier ages to modern super computers and their ability to model and analyse elegant yet complex structures and to present us with some of the most fantastic buildings on earth today. Some created by the great architects and engineers such as Nervi, Torroja, Candela, Calatrava and Ove Arup, using modern analysis methods by Clough and Zienkiewicz. These powerful methods of analysis and design are now used for almost everything we use from ladies’ underwear to cars, aircraft, space craft and even the weather forecast! Engineers now can change the world and make it work and to harness nature for the benefit of all mankind.

Frank’s wish is to present the world’s finest and magnificent architecture and designated World Heritage sites and to share his joy with travellers who want to appreciate and understand their fascination and beauty as well. Frank feels that today we stand in awe before these great cities, buildings and monuments of the past, present and future, wondering who built them and how they did it. Why wonder when he as an academic and a professional chartered civil and structural engineer having built many structures can simply explain these mysteries to you.

He enjoys sharing his knowledge which covers many subjects including architecture, buildings, bridges, dams, tunnelling, infrastructure and ship construction, in civil, mechanical and structural engineering with the history of science and technology, and the now expanding Time and Knowledge Society.

At present, he is Chairman of The International Building Studies Group and President of The London Ashridge Circle. He was an elected member of the Governing Council of The Institution of Structural Engineers for fifteen years and a councillor dealing with education and planning on Harrow Council.
