US Fulbright Scholar and Fulbright Alumni Ambassador Dr Amy Forss has a PhD in History from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She teaches History and Art History at Metropolitan Community College, one of the largest institutes of higher education in Nebraska. For over twenty years, Forss has engaged students and audiences alike in World Civilizations, Women's History, and Art History. She was interviewed by C-SPAN for her award winning biography on African American newspaper woman Mildred Brown, served as a Nebraska Public Media moderator, and lectured as a History Nebraska presenter. Her most recent book, Borrowing from Our Foremothers (University of Nebraska Press) examines the women's movement through material culture artifacts, particularly those stored in the archives of the Smithsonian's, regional museums, and the Museum of London.

I served as a 2022 Viking Resident Historian (VRH) on a five week cruise throughout the Mediterranean. Besides lecturing on the Greeks, Romans, Ottomans, Venetians, French, and Spanish, I held twice a week forums with groups of 20-50 guests.
In 2023, as a Viking Resident Historian for six weeks, I presented Iconic Lectures on the history of the Vikings, Norway, Iceland, Atlantic Canada, and the Bayeux Tapestry. I also conducted forums averaging 50-150 guests on the Bayeux Tapestry, Boston, Botanical Gardens, St. Edward's Crown, and Lighthouses. Guiding guests on Bayeux Tapestry ship tours was a particularly exciting educational adventure.
During the summer of 2024, I served as a VRH on a six week Mediterranean cruise starting in Barcelona, Spain and ending in Venice, Italy. Lectures included the histories and civilizations in Spain, France, Turkey, and Italy. Forum discussions included the Seven Original Wonders and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
