Dr. Hendin is a highly respected academic and legal analyst with specialties in International Criminal Law, the Law of Armed Conflict, International Human Rights, United Nations Peace Operations, Security Sector/Justice Sector Reform and related international subject areas.
Stuart has extensive experience teaching/training senior officers of the Canadian Armed Forces as well as members of various African militaries preparing to deploy on UN peacekeeping operations. He served as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. He has lectured at the NATO school in Oberammergau Germany and has served as an advisor in justice sector reform in Afghanistan. He was also outside counsel to the Speaker of the Senate of Canada. He holds an M.A. (Carleton University) an LL.B. (Queen’s University) an LL.M. (National University of Ireland) and an LL.D. (Ballsbridge University). Stuart was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) by the Government of Canada and was also awarded the ‘Canada 125 Medal’ for service to Canada. In addition, he is appointed a full professor in the faculty of Law at Ballsbridge University and was an Advisor/Fellow at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
