Dr Armida Bordi, a former professor of literature and the history of civilisations, lives in Genoa (Italy). After gaining two degrees from Genoa University she was the recipient of several British Council grants to British universities and a three time Fulbright scholar to the US . Armida was also a consultant and Italy’s representative to the Council of Europe in Scotland, Ireland, France and Austria where she trained both teachers and teacher-trainers. She also organised and coordinated cultural exchange programmes between Italy, the UK, the US and Spain.
She is now teaching lifelong learning programs offering adult learners courses combining history and art with foreign languages. She has also created discovery tours to help children, teenagers and adults find out about the rich cultural heritage of the city they live in.
As a long-time lecturer Armida has travelled extensively in different continents including Antarctica. She has been a guest speaker among others on Princess, Saga, Voyages of Discovery, Oceania, Regents Seven Seas, Silversea, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean.
A lover of travel and of different cultures, Armida likes exploring new places and
she can communicate in Italian, English, Spanish, French, Greek and Portuguese.
