Dr. Tim Flood is a professor of Geology at St. Norbert College (SNC) , a undergraduate liberal arts college located in De Pere, Wisconsin. He has a B.S. degree in geology and biology from UW-Oshkosh, a M.S. from the UM-Duluth and a PhD from Michigan State. His areas of expertise are volcanology, geochemistry and field geology. He was a founding member of the SNC geology department and has over 30 years of teaching experience. Over 100 of his students have obtained advanced degrees in geology. He has won the college’s teaching award and research award. He has spent over 650 overnights on field trips with his students including; Galapagos, Costa Rica, Belize, Nicaragua, Antarctica, Hawaii, Canada, Alaska and many locals in the US, especially the Lake Superior Region.
He has spent 10 summers out of Park City Utah teaching a capstone course for geology majors,50-70 students each term. His peer research and publications have included such locals as Costa Rica, Antarctica, Philippines, Nicaragua, British Columbia, Alaska, Utah, and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. His students have presented over 60 research projects at local, regional and national meetings. He is an avid outdoorsman who especially likes to sky, hike and camp. He is a campfire guitar player who has written over 30 original songs. He is married to Sally who is an exotic veterinarian and artist. As an artist, she has published a children’s book and illustrated it herself. He has two sons who are in college.

I have not participated as a speaker on a cruise. But, I have run many student field trips including Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Galapagos, Belize, Mexico, Hawaii and many in the continental US. I have done research in Antarctica, Philippines, Costa Rica and the US. I have given many local community talks. I have won both the teaching and research awards.
