BIOGRAPHY
Alan Wright’s career as a broadcaster, writer and professional speaker goes back over thirty years. See www.afterdinnerspeakeralanwright.co.uk

He is UK based but is frequently on trains and boats and planes to a wide range of destinations.

His debut novel - Rags and Reminders - was published in November, 2017 - available in paperback and Kindle on Amazon. It has had excellent early sales and reviewers and is now negotiating TV rights.

As well as fine cruise ships, he has spoken all over the UK and beyond, including the USA, the Middle East and France.

Alan was an award-winning BBC broadcaster for over 25 years and is busy these days on training in presentation skills and media for some of the biggest companies in the UK and internationally.

In the early Nineties he had what he describes as his “dream job” when he became Chief Executive of Durham County Cricket Club.

Alan has just completed a pilot programme which teaches young people the value of presentation skills – and personal ambition.

As well as top companies and public bodies, Alan’s courses have been highly praised by individuals taking up leading roles in public life and voluntary bodies.

To quote one example of frequent excellent feedback, “Alan has the gift of making learning vital skills enjoyable – I had a lot of fun as well as learning so much.”

Alan ended 2009 on a high note when, on a wonderful evening in the Long Room at Lord’s Cricket Ground, he was named the Lord’s Taverners After Dinner Speaker of the Year.
