MAIN CAREER; The Royal Navy (RN).

Initially employed in a training role with RN and ROYAL MARINES. Added qualifications obtained in Meteorology and Oceanography leading to forecasting roles at Naval Air Stations in Scotland, Dorset and Cornwall. Sea service in aircraft carriers operating in the Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, South China Sea and Pacific Ocean.Two appointments with NATO - Naval forces Southern Europe based at Naples, Italy for 3 years, then Maritime Headquarters in London. Promoted Commander. Chosen as Senior Meteorological Officer for two Naval Air Stations then to the Ministry of Defence in London. Left RN after 26 years.

EDUCATION: Abertillery Grammar School and Aberystwyth University; B.Sc. Geology and Geography.

SUBSEQUENT CAREER:

Head of Training and Development for a Building Society.
Television weather presenter for Independent Television (Meridian Region covering Hampshire, Sussex, Kent, Berkshire and South Oxfordshire.
Consultancy roles in Southampton, London and Derby with clients including IBM, British Petroleum and KPMG Accountancy.
Training/Tutor/Mentor positions with a major British Investment Bank ( in a self employed role)

Since February 2010, as an enrichment lecturer with cruise lines; Over 50 cruises with 7 different companies.

Qualified as Meteorologist/Oceanographer within Royal Navy.
SERIES OF 4 TALKS ON THE POSSIBLE EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING - Title "Global Warming - Yes or No?". I give the case for and the case against and, at the end, deal with questions and take a vote.
I include the wider implications for the future - Food ;Water Shortages; Population Growth; Energy Requirements; Extreme Weather Events; Loss of Coral Reefs.
The series has been very well received in a variety of speaker groups (Probus, University of the Third Age). INCLUDES AN ANALYSIS OF THE FRACKING DEBATE.
