BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Sarah Yeomans is an archaeologist and art historian with a passion for travel and culture. Her lecture topics focus on the history and culture of cities and sites in the Mediterranean/Aegean, the Near and Middle East, the British Isles, Scandinavia and the Arctic. She holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Southern California (USC), as well as an M.A. in Archaeology (University of Sheffield, U.K.) and a M.A. in Art History (USC). Dr. Yeomans is faculty at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a consultant for a Washington D.C.-based archaeological non-profit organization that investigates biblical sites in the Near East and Turkey. A native Californian, she has conducted archaeological fieldwork in Israel, Italy, Turkey, France and England and has worked on several television and film productions, including “The Story of God with Morgan Freeman” and “Ancient Unexplained Files.”

Yeomans has also featured in articles by numerous media outlets, including the BBC, Live Science and the Huffington Post. Sarah has been awarded several prestigious research grants and fellowship from various institutions, including the American Research Institute of Turkey. She was a Fulbright Fellow in 2021-2022 and a National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) fellow in 2022-2023, during which conducted archaeological research on Graeco-Roman sites in Turkey and Italy. Dr. Yeomans is also a Fellow of the prestigious Explorers Club.

She is generally happiest when she and her passport are roaming the world together in search of ancient history and modern wonders.
