Johanna Grove is a recognised British Destination Expert and travel presenter, with more than 18 years of experience working on board cruise ships and in the cruise industry.

She trained as a presenter and researcher at the BBC, moved to BskyB as a Director, and then took a six month career break to travel – including a 32 day trek to the Himalayas, climbing Mount Everest. This sparked a passion for world travel and she never looked back to the broadcast industry.

She joined her first cruise line in 2007 as a Port Presenter and worked both onboard (alongside the Shore Excursions team), and ashore (assisting with the set up of several new ships). She was the lead presenter of a Shore Excursion promotional video and featured in more than 50 ‘on location’ excursion marketing films.

Johanna returned to dry land after being headhunted by a new cruise tour company. As the Brand and Content manager, she was responsible for the creation, production, direction and presentation of all marketing material, TV adverts and company promotional videos.

In 2017, Johanna launched her business as a freelance destination expert (regularly featuring on Princess Cruises) and revisited her love for the sea. She now works for a variety of cruise lines, both at sea and on land.

Throughout her career, she has appeared on several Cruise TV channels as a destination expert, has filmed a pilot for a new cruise and travel show, has sailed on six full World Voyages and has specialised in all the world's main cruising regions.

She still hasn’t lost her great passion for exploring the world and still gets excited about joining new ships with varied itineraries.

Having joined countless tours ashore in every port of call that she’s visited, Johanna can offer personal experiences, expertise and an infectious love of exploring that can help guests to plan their perfect vacation.

She has a confident and informative presentation style, is friendly and positive and is certain to encourage guests to be just as excited about the destinations as she is.

All of her presentations are updated to be cruise and date specific, photographs are all of a professional standard, and cultural tips and travel advice are always up to date.

She is educated to degree level, owns a property rental business, has a strict eye for detail and is proud to receive continuous outstanding passenger feedback and scores.
