Dr Patsy Erskine-Hill

Patsy has lived in Spain, France and Italy, and holds degrees in French and Italian from Trinity College, Dublin, and a Masters in Economic and Social History from the University of Edinburgh, specialising in Imperial Russia. She has worked as a court interpreter and translator, taught Italian Renaissance and medieval literature and speaks fluent Italian, French and rusty Spanish as well as a little Russian. Her informative talks cover the history and art of Russia, Italy and England.

Rab Houston
British and Irish History

Professor Rab Houston took a first class honours degree in Modern History from the University of St Andrews and, after six years at the University of Cambridge as a research student and research fellow, returned as a lecturer in 1983. A full professor since 1995, he has held visiting professorships. Rab has written 10 books on subjects such as early modern British and European literacy, British demography and urbanisation and society. In June 2017 he acted as an ‘expert’ lecturer on a ‘Smithsonian Journeys’ tour of Scotland. His talks on British and Irish History are entertaining and stimulating.

Dr Peter Roberts

Prof Dr Peter Roberts is a retired professor of Geology. He has a first degree in geology and two higher degrees including his doctorate. Peter has been retained by many major international companies over the past 50 years to create and give professional-level PowerPoint presentations concerning a wide variety of topics. He is very widely travelled and has, over the course of his life, spoken thirteen different languages. Now, for the first time, he is making himself available to talk to cruise liner clientele, who will be amazed at the fascinating anecdotes he can tell them.

Dr Karen Woodman is a retired university professor, who is an entertaining cruise enrichment speaker on topics such as history, education, street art, culture, dance, language, and food as they relate to cruise destinations. Karen is also an avid social dancer who enjoys sharing her love of dance, the benefits of social dance, and the mind-body connection. She has traveled extensively, including North and South America, the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, Cuba, Europe, Scandinavia, and South-East Asia.
