After gaining 2 degrees from Genoa University she was the recipient of several British Council grants to British universities and a three time Fulbright scholar to the US. As a long-time lecturer for many cruise lines, Armida has travelled extensively in different continents. Working for his himself as well as contracting to other tour companies, he has designed and led study tours both internationally and within Australia for over 25 years. When not leading tours, Chris works as an archaeological consultant and heritage advisor.

Professor Julian Dowdeswell is recently retired professor of Physical Geography and Director of the Scott Polar Research Institute in the University of Cambridge. Since retirement, Julian, and his wife Evelyn, have travelled on cruise ships in both polar regions, the Mediterranean, Norway and US/Canadian waters giving guest lectures on a wide variety of environmental science topics, and, in the Arctic and Antarctic, on glaciers and ice sheets, polar exploration and polar art.
